Learn how pallet rack repair works
Selective
Selective rack allows access to any pallet load from the system without the need to move any other pallets. This makes each pallet highly visible and easy to load and unload. The vast majority of pallet racking systems are selective. This is primarily due to its lower cost, availability, and flexible usability. Of course, there are more options out there. However, even selective systems can be incorporated into non-selective systems. One more reason they are such a versatile solution for so many warehouses.
Structural
Generally used for higher capacity, usually large beams and upright widths. Structural racking is made by hot-rolling raw iron into thick, low-gauge steel components that are bolted together. This process creates high-quality, heavy-channel steel that stores heavy pallets and withstands harsh conditions, such as lift truck impact. A unique trait of structural racking systems is 100% accessibility to all stored items.
Drive-in
Drive-in racking is a cost-effective, high-density storage system often used in a FIFO environment. The system allows the storage of pallets multiple positions deep, reducing the space for aisles. Pallets are loaded into horizontal rails. Drivers then remove the pallets from the same entry point at which they were loaded.
Carton/Pallet Flow
Carton/pallet flow racking is a first-in, first-out style of storage system. Utilizing a rolling track and the force of gravity, carton flow racking pushes the product forward as it is picked from the front of the rack. This type of system can be installed in nearly any existing pallet rack system. Depths can range from 2 to over 20 pallets deep, thereby giving you higher storage density than other forms of racking.
Cantilever
Cantilever Racking is a storage system designed to store long, awkward, or bulky materials of virtually any length. Unlike any other pallet rack system, cantilever racks offer no vertical obstructions in the storage area. Typical applications include Aluminum sheets, furniture, lumber, Masonite sheets, building material, variable-sized materials, wood crates, carpet and vinyl rolls, appliances, bar stock, flake board, large pallets and boxes, doors, tubing, electrical harness, sheet steel, bars, drywall, and piping.
Push Back
Push-back racking is a storage method that allows pallets to be stored from 2 to 6 deep on either side of an aisle, giving you higher storage density than conventional forms of racking. With push-back pallet racking, you can combine the density of the drive-in rack while also providing single-lane selectivity. A pushing force is exerted to place a new pallet, where the forklift pushes the unit loads already stored towards the back, making space for the new pallet to be deposited, hence the term “push-back”. Typically used in the food industry (i.e., freezer).
Modular Inplant Offices
An inplant office is a modular building that is prefabricated and delivered to your facility for a fast, more convenient installation on-site. They create controlled environments for employees. Compared to conventional construction, this takes a fraction of the time.
How Does An Inplant Office Benefit Your Facility?
- Fast Construction
- Reduced Costs
- Increased Flexibility
Mezzanines
Mezzanines are essentially intermediate floors between a warehouse's main floor and its ceiling. However, mezzanine floor systems are not considered completely new floors in a building. They're generally a supplementary structure that is added after a warehouse's initial construction. Maximizing the amount of space mezzanines create space by building up and not out.
Benefits of Mezzanines
- Increases space utilisation
- Cost-effective
- Enables expansion without relocation
- Dismountable and relocatable
- Quick installation
Shelving
Industrial shelving is versatile in the way that it comes in many styles and can be used to store an assortment of items. Space in warehouses is critical, and industrial shelving can utilize the space of any facility in an efficient manner. Usually depending on the make of the shelving units are often easy to assemble and shouldn’t cause any delay in your workflow. Warehouse shelving is truly the most affordable long-term solution for cost-effectively utilizing the space in your business’s facility.
Five types of warehouse shelving
- Steel Shelving
- Rivet Shelving
- Wire Shelving
- Bulk Rack Shelving
- Clipless Shelving
Conveyor
Conveyor technology is used to aid in order fulfillment. They are used to quickly transport products throughout the facility, such as from picking zones to packing areas. They’re similar to the conveyors found in grocery store checkout lanes but on a much larger scale. Warehouse conveyor systems offer several benefits. Here’s a look at the pros of warehouse conveyor systems.
Benefits of Conveyor
- Flexibility
- Reliability
- Improved accuracy
Wire Partition
Wire partitions are modular steel systems that are used for safety, security, and separation. Mesh, welded or woven, is securely welded inside sturdy angle frames to create a single wire partition panel. These wire mesh partition panels are then bolted to square steel tubing posts to create a strong and rigid modular wall or enclosure.
Common Applications
- Used in manufacturing and warehouse facilities for tool cribs, maintenance equipment cages, and general storage areas.
- Used to build free-standing, multi-use storage cages and enclosures on facility floors.
- Secure enclosures are constructed with wire partition panels and used for inventory control where open access to products may be a problem.
Vertical Lift Module
The Vertical Lift Module: an automated storage and retrieval device. It is comprised of trays in the front and back and an inserter/extractor system that runs down the center. Trays are automatically retrieved and delivered to a pick window for picking. Instead of walking up and down aisles to retrieve items stored in shelving, stored items are delivered to you on a tray. It's an enclosed system consisting of two vertical shelving units with an extractor device located in the center. the extractor travels vertically up and down the unit to automatically retrieve and deliver the correct trays of stored items to the access opening at the push of a button or the scan of a bar code. Common types of VLMs' we install include Kardex/Remstars and PFlow Mezzanine lifts.
Vertical Lift Module Benefits
- Improved Floor Space Utilization
- Reduced Labor Requirements and Costs
- Improved Picking Throughput (Speed)
- Improved Ergonomics
Guard Rails
Forklift collisions are costly and dangerous, but we can help you reduce the damage. Industrial guardrails protect machinery and provide a safe and efficient work environment, its most important role is protecting people. The Industrial Safety Barriers & Guard Rails are constructed from the toughest steel and provide non-penetrable support and protection. Guardrail systems are economical impact protection for machinery, building columns, storage, inventory, and your employees. Rely on us to help you specify the right guardrail, installed in the right place to make your people safer.
Common Applications
